"My name is Sarah M. I'm currently in my 11th year of teaching as of the 2025-2026 school year. I’ve taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. The majority of my career has been spent in the school system I attended as a child and graduated high school.

Prior to beginning my teaching career, I worked in medicine for 10 years. While working and raising my family, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. I graduated in 2022 from the University of Virginia with a Masters in Reading and added a Reading Specialist endorsement to my license.

I'm well versed in the Science of Reading and have provided students with instruction in phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, and comprehension. I have tutored several students within my school system as well as several students in pursuit of my Master's degree. I've been trained in Letters and Orton Gillingham.
