"Hello! I'm Ellanya (rhymes with "lasagna") and I love teaching. I have known I wanted to teach since I was in high school at Carlsbad High School where I had a great mentor and some families I regularly babysat for. I am currently attending CSULB as a graduate student and I also received my BA in ASLD there.

I strongly believe in Comprehensible Input and teaching the whole child, not just the curriculum. While I have yet to fully complete my teaching credential, I have experience in creating lesson plans and working alongside my observation teachers. My best subjects are linguistics and American Sign Language since I started taking ASL classes in high school at CHS and at Palomar and even further at CSULB. I have completed up to level five at the college level and have an extensive knowledge on Deaf culture. I absolutely love the language and the culture and I would love to share that with students because enjoying subjects helps students progress in their studies.

I have previously tutored a couple students short term in pre-algebra and algebra 1.

I have my undergraduate degree in American Sign Language Linguistics and Deaf Culture and my incomplete teaching credential is focused on teaching ASL as a second language at the high school level.

I have a minor in Linguistics and recently finished my Master's degree in Linguistics: Language and Culture.

I have a background in homeschooling and I have access to great resources.
