"I have a bachelors in history with a minor in english. I also have a masters in art gallery and museum studies. I was a teaching assistant for 3 different professors in history survey courses at the college level as well as a research associate. I was a 5th grade teacher with 65% improvement in reading and a world history honors and study skills teacher in high school with improved english instruction and framework. I am really confident with my knowledge of elementary math in common core including methods in saxon, mymath and EngageNY. I have taken the ACT before as well as the LSAT and teacher credential prep tests and have knowledge in how to master and pass those courses.

I have had careers in finance, customer service and museums and I have been a tour guide for a historic site. I'm really comfortable around strangers and making people feel relaxed. I have done one on one tutoring in particular as a teaching assistant, substitute and I specifically taught several kids in writing structure at the high school level as well as reading comprehension at the elementary level. I have, as a study skills teacher, taught a variety of subjects and been responsible for special needs assistance in being prepared to learn and how to intake information more easily. I love seeing the end results-a student who understands new structures for learning and can take information and apply it to new problems with the understanding they can now move forward. That's very exciting to me to see and accomplish.

I taught 5th grade elementary and tutored students after school. I had a high growth percentage, none of my students were failing in reading--all were at passing or above and I even had a few gifted students.
