"I am a third-year medical student currently completing my clinical rotations, with a strong academic background in science and mathematics. I have a bachelor's degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology (1) and Public Health Studies (2) with a minor in Earth & Planetary Sciences from Johns Hopkins University. This past year, I have successfully passed the USMLE Step 1 (medical boards), with ongoing preparation for Step 2 (medical boards). My medical education has provided me with in-depth knowledge of subjects such as biology, anatomy, physiology, math, analytic reasoning, and test-taking strategies making me well-equipped to tutor students in these areas.
I have 10 years of experience tutoring undergraduate, high school, middle school, and elementary school students in a variety of subjects. I would not be where I am today without the amazing tutors who have shared their knowledge and time with me. Thus, I know first-hand how important it is to have a tutoring approach that is student centered - everyone learns differently and everyone is capable. I focus on breaking down complex topics into simpler, more digestible concepts while incorporating active recall and spaced repetition techniques. I have worked with students in one-on-one and small group settings, both in formal tutoring programs and peer mentoring roles. Proudly, I can admit that I receive updates from my prior students about their well-deserved academic accomplishments.
I am an aspiring pediatric cardiologist, so in addition to my tutoring experience, I have extensive experience working and connecting with children and adolescents. I strive for success in my students by cultivating a strong foundation of knowledge, building their confidence, and encouraging critical thinking skills that will serve them beyond the classroom." less...
