"Thomas Jefferson once wrote, "I cannot live without books." My goal is to encourage struggling readers to feel the same way! I consider it an honor to help children fall in love with reading. My family owned a bookstore for years and it was always a delight to help people find literary treasure! I have a M.Ed from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, and am trained in the Wilson Reading System, a multi-sensory, research-based instruction method that caters mainly to challenged readers K-adult. It requires at least 2 sessions per week, parent involvement, and an ongoing commitment, but is very thorough. I also tutor in English, writing and grammar. I teach almost exclusively online, and have taught children as far away as Texas and Illinois, but also teach in-person out of a lovely office convenient to: Hoover/Homewood/Mntnbrk/Vestavia and the 280 corridor, with a lovely waiting room.
