"As a retired school media specialist and fifth grade teacher, I have made learning fun for thousands of students. I believe that learning and strengthening basic skills should be based upon a student’s interests. Hands on learning and use of a variety of materials is essential for students to be engaged every minute.

I readily adapt math or literature lessons to satisfy individual student curiosities. One of my current students is very interested in American history so we can focus on his favorite historical people and events while improving math and reading skills. This method, along with test taking strategies has earned him the top score in both reading and math end of grade tests.

As a private tutor for the past few decades, I am pleased to have made such a difference with every one of my students. I am finding that children who have suffered through the pandemic have huge gaps in their learning that can only be filled with an experienced teacher and engaged student.
