"Greetings,
I am Manufacturing and Quality (M&Q) engineer currently looking to tutor in any areas of my expertise. I was raised in Texas Spanish being my first language. When I was around 13 years old I started learning English and has been my primary language ever since. I majored in Mechanical engineering due to a strong interest in cars, where I joined the Mini Baja team and eventually became the captain and president of the local SAE club in my university. After finishing my 4 year Bachelors, I eventually worked on my Masters in mechanical engineering and manufacturing for around 2 years. Eventually, I was able to get employed in NAVAIR and have been with them ever since. This job required very strong technical communication skills where I needed to communicate quality issues either by condensing a lot of information into very short messages (for my leadership) or to elaborate with extensive detail (for my fellow engineers).
For my teaching experience, I have taught elementary students elementary math as part of a volunteer experience. In addition, I often also coach my coworkers on our standard operating procedures and often give feedback on the reports as necessary. Much of my experience has been one on one, which I find works best to help the student internalize knowledge best since I can tailor the experience to best suit their learning pace. My method of teaching revolves around understanding the theory, watching an example, and then actually solving a problem yourself (with me guiding). This is to help build a foundation of confidence first. Then we transition into exploring different variations of the problem before adding new concepts in order to help build student adaptability to tackle either tests and/or real life problems. The final step is to shift into a retention plan to ensure knowledge can be easily practiced/reviewed.
Look forward to working with you!!!" less...
