"I'm Hunter! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Physics, and a minor in Mathematics and Astronomy. I also hold a Master's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Software Engineering. In high school, I realized how impactful teachers can be in a student's educational journey. My best teachers were master builders of understanding and skilled at breaking down complexity. Rather than overwhelming students with information, they identified core principles and layered knowledge step by step, showing how each new concept naturally grows out of what came before. I try to use this same method in my tutoring approach, and do everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience.
I have 5+ years of tutoring experience in Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy. I worked as a tutor for my university's on-campus walk-in tutoring service. From approximately 5pm to 9pm, students were able to walk up to my table and ask for assistance on any topic in Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy. I worked one-on-one with students and in small focus groups of 5-10 students. I began most sessions with a short review of the core principles on a white board. Afterwards, I always ensured time for students to practice the material on their own with several examples.
I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, therefore welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!" less...
