"Hello! My name is Marissa Patton, and I am a tutor of English and Writing. I am currently an English professor with a Master's degree in English and Writing Certificate which I obtained in May 2021. I have taught English Composition at a local college for the past 4 years and teach Writing and Research at one other local college. I currently tutor a 7th grader and a 9th grader in Language Arts and tutor high school and college students in a local college Writing Center. As your tutor, you can expect me to be reliable, have a flexible schedule, and to tutor with energy and enthusiasm! I enjoy working with students at various levels of learning.

I began tutoring when I went to High School and helped my peers at Bakersfield College and CSUB between 2014 and 2021. From 2018-2019 I was a teacher resident at a local high school and taught 9th grade and 11th grade English. I have been teaching and tutoring college students since 2021.

My qualifications are the following:

Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communications, Masters in English with 160 units/credits and 4.0 GPA, Member of multiple honor societies (Sigma Tua Delta, Alpha Chi, Alpha Sigma Pi, and Lambda Pi Eta).

From being an instructional aide to teaching college composition, I have a broad spectrum of tutoring skills. I have studied a variety of subjects including composition and literature.
