"Hi, I'm Corinne! I was the goofy student in high school chemistry class who always tried to light lab books on fire when my teacher wasn't looking. He believed in me anyway, and encouraged me to study chemistry in college. I fell in love with chemistry as an undergraduate student in the research lab and went on to graduate with Honors, a semester early. I then earned my Master's in Chemistry before deciding my passion was teaching. I transitioned out of research, earning my Master's in Secondary Science Education while coaching high school cross-country and track. I enjoyed 5 years working as a high school teacher before the pandemic led me to focus on my young family.
I love introducing students to the exciting world of chemistry and truly believe anyone can be successful in the chemistry classroom. Chemistry can be intimidating, but I'm here to help you decipher the fancy terminology and seemingly complicated calculations.
I taught every level of chemistry (academic through AP), 8th grade physical science, a research class, and chemistry designed for students interested in the medical field. I've been a chemistry tutor since my sophomore year of college and also spent time as a college-level TA while in graduate school. Basically, I've been helping others decipher the language of chemistry for close to 15 years now.
After teaching hundreds of students, I have a 100% pass rate for the Chemistry SOL for Honors Chemistry. Additionally, I taught 8th grade physical science in a school in danger of failing. We exceeded the 70% pass rate requirement and obtained the highest SOL pass rate in years.
I miss teaching and would love the chance to help you succeed in your high school or college classroom. Let me teach you the tricks I've learned along the way!" less...
