"Hi! My name is Joel and I am attending the University of Texas at Austin (UT), pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Hook 'Em Horns! My goal in tutoring is to teach my students how to be effective learners. Building on each student's potential, I firmly believe in tailored strategies that facilitate self-confidence and constructive habits. I explain material in creative ways to identify how my students learn best and form structured study plans for use outside of our lessons. I am committed to building a feedback-based relationship in which my students turn to me for help and receive learning in whatever form they need.

I specialize in the fields of Math and Computer Science and have the qualifications to match. I received a 5 on the AP Calculus BC and AP Computer Science Exams, and have scored an A in all my math and computer science courses. I have excelled in university Data Structures and Computer (Operating) Systems. Throughout high school, I volunteered as a math tutor while leading a State Champion and World Semi-Finalist Robotics team. Currently, I serve as a Peer Academic Coach at UT, helping students to develop and implement study strategies for Time Management, Motivation, Concentration, and Test Taking. I also work as a Teaching Assistant for the Computer (Operating) Systems course at UT, guiding my students in their understanding of the C programming language, memory, file systems, threads, processes, and more! I have had the pleasure of interning with HEB-Digital as a Back End Engineering Intern this past summer and will be interning with Amazon this summer as a Software Development Engineering Intern!
