"Hi, I’m Edward! I graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Tulsa and went on to earn my M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. I currently work as an Electrical Engineer specializing in embedded systems R&D, where I’ve gained over four years of hands-on experience solving complex technical problems. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the chance to help others build confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I find it rewarding to share both academic knowledge and practical insights from engineering.
My tutoring experience began in college, where I worked with students in Circuit Analysis and Digital Logic courses. Since then, I’ve also helped students with ACT math and high school-level math, giving me the opportunity to work with learners at different stages of their academic journey. I focus on breaking down complicated topics into clear, approachable steps and ensuring that students feel supported as they move from understanding the concept to applying it on their own.
To guide students, I often rely on a teaching style I learned as an Eagle Scout called the EDGE method: first I explain the material in simple terms, then I demonstrate how to work through a problem, next I guide the student as they practice, and finally I enable them to solve on their own with confidence. This method helps students build both knowledge and independence, while still allowing room for individual learning styles. My goal is always to meet students where they are, provide encouragement, and help them achieve their academic goals." less...
