"I am currently an undergrad at Monmouth University. I am part of the Monmouth - Drexel 8 year medical scholars program, which guarantees admission to the Drexel University College of Medicine so long as certain GPA requirements are maintained and a certain MCAT score is achieved. Admission to this program is very competitive: you basically need a great SAT score, high school GPA, and quality extracurricular and medical experiences.

In addition to excelling academically, I am also very skilled in explaining tough concepts to students, which is why I am a great tutor! My teaching experience at Monmouth includes being a supplemental instructor for General Physics with Calculus I and II as well as being a peer chemistry tutor. In order to qualify for both, one needs to not only excel in the classroom but also in explaining concepts to other students (professors recommend students for both jobs). My two preferred specialties are AP Chemistry and the SAT. I did great in AP Chemistry in high school and scored a 5 on the exam. Monmouth didn't accept my full credit due to the fact that I was a medical scholar, so I was still required to take general chemistry II. I aced the class anyway. The point is that I've taken a lot of chemistry continuously for many years, which is why I chose to specialize in it as a tutor.

I also did great on the SAT. My score was a 2300. I attended a very rigorous SAT prep institution called Yale Academy - now Y2 Academy. Because of this, I have a very good mastery of content and know all the tricks of the trade in approaching the test. I would have scored higher but neglected to drill the vocabulary words into my head before taking the test. Therefore, my score on the reading section was not up to par. However, vocabulary mastering is up to the student. I can help with the tough questions from the reading passages, which is where most students have the most trouble.
