"I was fortunate enough to have had some very good high school teachers and college professors. After a successful career as a scientific software developer, I wanted to return the favor by teaching in public high schools for a few years. I was terrible with large classrooms, but I was very successful working one-on-one with students.

Sometimes a student only needs a bit of clarification to unlock their progress, while other students benefit from structured support. When necessary, I provide detailed examples, alternative explanations, and tailored practice problems. I work on a sliding scale, to provide affordable rates, especially when my students are sincerely trying. My core subject expertise runs from middle school through high school and math/science expertise runs through the second year of college.
