"Hi, I'm Suraj! I recently graduated magna cum laude from UC Berkeley with my Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. Throughout college, I always made myself available to assist my classmates and friends in classes whenever they asked, and found amazing ways to break down concepts in ways that felt simple and aligned with their styles of learning. That experience helped me realize how much I enjoy teaching and how rewarding it is to see someone finally understand something they once found confusing.

During high school and college, I gained a lot of tutoring experience with a diverse audience. I spent one year working with Mathnasium as a math tutor for K-12 students, covering concepts from elementary math to Calculus II. I have also supported high school and early college students as they worked through general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and biochemistry. Throughout my experience as both a tutor and a student, I've found that making the learning environment fun, engaging, and interesting to the student is the best way for them to love what they're learning and develop their strengths. I like to start my lessons by figuring out exactly where the student feels stuck, exploring the fundamentals, then working step by step to solve the problem. I also bridge concepts to real-world applications so students can understand ways to picture what they're learning in real scenarios.

My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. Whether a student needs help catching up in class, wants to strengthen understanding before a big test, or is aiming to get ahead, I am committed to helping them feel prepared and capable.
