"I am currently an Industrial Engineering student at Cal Poly SLO with a strong academic foundation in mathematics, physics, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning. My coursework in engineering, calculus, and science has strengthened both my technical understanding and my ability to explain complex ideas in clear, step-by-step ways. In high school, I consistently performed at the top of my STEM classes and continued building that strength through college-level classes taken early at Saddleback College. This background allows me to help students not just memorize formulas, but genuinely understand why concepts work the way they do.
My tutoring experience began with volunteer work through Learn To Be, where I worked one-on-one with younger students who needed support in general math and foundational problem-solving skills. That experience taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and meeting each student exactly where they are. I’ve also tutored peers informally, helping classmates prepare for math exams, physics problem sets, and engineering coursework. Whether I’m teaching a middle-school student who needs confidence or a college student who wants to strengthen their technical skills, I shape my approach around the learner’s pace, preferred style, and goals.
My teaching method focuses on breaking problems down into simple, intuitive steps so that students can build real understanding rather than short-term memorization. I emphasize active learning, asking guiding questions to help students think independently, while still giving clear examples and explanations when needed. My goal is always to help students gain confidence, reduce frustration, and walk away feeling more capable than when they started. I enjoy creating a comfortable, encouraging environment where students feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow." less...
