"Hello!
My name is Hannah, and I own a public health consulting business. I have a Master's of Public Health and Master's of Arts. I love the work I get to do in my career, but I also loved school! While I'm no longer a student myself, I still enjoy working with other students to help them succeed.
My two best subjects are math and Spanish, but I'm open to tutoring a variety of other subjects.
I have excelled in and LOVED math since I was a child. By the time I finished middle school, I had taken algebra I, algebra II, and geometry. In high school, I studied calculus I, calculus II, and statistics. I was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the national math honor society, and competed as a mathlete in MathCounts, an American mathematics competition. I even scored a perfect 800 on the math section of the SAT.
I have over 12 years of experience studying Spanish, including multiple trips and short periods living in Spanish-speaking countries. I also worked as a teaching assistant for Spanish 101 and 102 during my undergrad at Montana State University, and taught history of Mexico at San Diego State University.
For two years, I volunteered as a mentor in the Child Advancement Project (CAP). As a CAP mentor, I worked one-on-one with a student in the Bozeman school district on their schoolwork. Some of the children I worked with were excelling in their studies and needed an additional challenge outside of the classroom, while others were struggling in a subject and needed individual help to keep them on track with the rest of the class.
I am great working with students of all abilities. I know how to adjust a lesson according to each student's best learning style, whether it be visual, verbal, hands-on, or any other learning style. I also assist students in creating a variety of study tools which enable them to continue studying material out of the classroom, even when their teachers and tutor are not present.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my education or experience." less...
