"Hello! My name is Dakota and I have been a tutor/educator for over 10 years now. I hold a bachelor's degree in History from UC Santa Barbara and am currently working as an intern math teacher here in Southern California. Some of my areas of expertise include:

I have taught in many different contexts, ranging from one-on-one instruction to whole-class. I love storytelling and I use it as main tool to engage students to have fun with the subject material.

For individual instruction, I first assess a students proximal zone of development. PZD is a concept that helps measure how much new information a student can be exposed to before the difficulty level becomes too high and the student stops making meaningful gains in understanding. Every student comes with their own PZD and it is important to me to avoid overwhelming my student and to keep the lessons fun, engaging, and most appropriately, cognitively manageable." less...
