"Hi, I'm Darryl! I am currently a sophomore pursuing my B.S. in Mathematics: Actuarial Sciences with a minor in Finance! I love all things math, but I also LOVE English and language arts! I went to state for Speech & Debate in high school, so I also am well-versed in all things theatrical. I love being able to help others feel more confident in their academics, and I have pretty much been a recreational tutor for my friends throughout high school and college. While never accepting salary, I work very hard to help anyone who asks me for anything and enhance their education and understanding as much as I can! I think one of the most important steps to learning from a tutor is having a meaningful connection with them, and as I consider myself extremely outgoing...I do not struggle to connect with anyone. After some trust is established, I think it allows educators and students to be more honest about areas they struggle with -- after all, I am a firm believer that communication is key and will always encourage as much open and honest talking as possible. I believe repetition is one of the best ways to learn following explicit teaching; this can always be adjusted to help meet every individual's needs, though!
I have the most experience tutoring with Statics (which is physics without motion), so I am incredibly comfortable with algebra and calculus functions outside of just my listed English credentials. This was usually one-on-one! I have taken about every style of class you can imagine, as I used to be an engineering major before I was in math!" less...
