"Math is fun, and math makes sense! However, deep understanding of math concepts is essential for students to apply their knowledge flexibly to solve problems. Building proficiency in operations requires number sense that can be built and encouraged through fun, hands-on activities.

I am currently certified to teach K-6 general education in the state of Florida, which has reciprocal licensing in Wisconsin. My Florida license includes a reading endorsement, which certifies me to teach reading K-12 and an ESOL endorsement that qualifies me for working with language learners from K-adult. I have 10 years of experience teaching 1st-5th grade in the general education setting.

My teaching philosophy is that every student can learn and that every student can enjoy learning! This can be accomplished through careful cultivation of positive experiences and is reinforced through strategic opportunities for success.
