I have been a math teacher in public schools since August 2005. I have taught algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and 6th grade math. I have had student success on state-administered tests, including over 80% of my students passing the algebra I end-of-course exam and over 96% passing the geometry end-of-course exam in 2012 (the first official year of those exams). I enjoy making puzzle-type games for my lessons to help improve my students' thinking skills and using the technology provided to enhance these lessons.

I have tutored math in some capacity since I was about 13 years old. Throughout these past 20-plus years, I have helped students ranging from 4th grade math to college statistics. I feel that one-on-one tutoring helps build the confidence of the student as I am willing to break down the concept needed to be learned as much as possible. Also, I like to check for understanding during each session, whether it is through a small assessment near the end of the session or just a quick question while we are going through a lesson. I love finding out some of the interests of the student because then I can incorporate it into a problem that I can help you solve!
