"I have been providing students in Fairfield and Westchester counties with patient, responsive, and insightful math, science, and test prep tutoring for over 20 years. Via online tutoring, I have provided the same services to students around the globe. I have over 20 years of combined university, high school, and one-to-one full-time teaching experience, with a focus on conceptual clarity and individual and small group teaching.

I have strong communication skills, good rapport with students, good personal test scores, and a solid record of student success. Additional qualifications include advanced degrees in physics and extensive graduate and undergraduate math study.

I listen carefully to parents and students. Through listening and observing I determine the student’s strengths and weaknesses. I present explanations of concepts and their applications tailored to the student, filling in gaps and building on the student’s existing understanding. As a math, science, and SAT tutor, I strive to provide insight and understanding that has value for admissions testing, school and college classes, career, and life.

My work experience includes tutoring, revising SAT Math teaching materials, and training new tutor recruits for a selective New York City agency that required tutor candidates to have personal scores in the 99th percentile. I exceeded that standard, with a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT and on three SAT Subject Tests - Math 2, Physics, and Writing (which was formerly a separate SAT Subject Test; SAT Subject tests are no longer offered).
