"I have been teaching math and reading since 2019 and have worked as a private tutor for more than six years. My students have ranged from age five through adult, with most of my experience centered around middle school learners. I have taught in both one-on-one and small group settings, primarily online, and I specialize in helping students who face a wide range of challenges, including autism, ADHD, and nonverbal learning disorders. My goal is always to build confidence, strengthen skills, and create a supportive environment where students feel capable and encouraged.
My background includes a degree in Business from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and five years as a certified instructor with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. During that time, I became well versed in sensory-cognitive instructional methods for both reading and math. My teaching process draws on phoneme awareness, symbol imagery, and concept imagery to help students develop a stronger foundation in literacy and problem-solving. I have also taught Algebra I and II, giving me the ability to support learners as they move into higher-level math.
Bringing together my experience in education and my earlier career in financial services, I approach tutoring with patience, structure, and real-world perspective. I strive to adapt lessons to each student’s learning style and individual needs, and I have seen how personalized instruction can make a lasting difference. Whether supporting early literacy, strengthening reading comprehension, or guiding students through algebra, I enjoy helping learners of all backgrounds reach their potential." less...
