"I have experience in helping people not only learn material, but to also understand why concepts are important and how they apply to their interests and goals. Many of my students have accomplished their goals through improvement of their grades, course performance, and standardized test scores. I firmly believe that with appropriate instruction, any student willing to put forth an effort to learn will be able to improve their performance. I find the most effective approach to learning differs with each student, but there are some general things that I have found to be beneficial for learners of most types. This includes setting appropriate goals, planning, practice with examples and problems, appropriate attention to questions, and asking students to explain back concepts to ensure they understand the information.

Concerning educational qualifications, I finished my undergraduate coursework in 2011 and have since been working as a full time professional in the biotechnology field. I hold a B.S. in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics and a B.A. in History from the University of Maryland.
