"My name is Robert, and I’ve been working with students for over 15 years as a private tutor specializing in SAT/ACT prep as well as subject tutoring in math and science. I hold a bachelor's degree in physics from UC San Diego. I began my career in education as a substitute teacher for both Glendale and LAUSD, gaining valuable experience in classroom management and instruction across grade levels. Over the years, I’ve transitioned into a full time one-on-one tutor and test prep instructor, where I’ve been able to focus more deeply on individualized instruction.

I typically work with students ranging from 7th grade through college-level, including adult learners preparing for graduate exams like the GRE and GMAT. My approach is rooted in helping students build confidence and develop practical problem-solving strategies, whether they’re tackling AP Calculus, AP Physics, or preparing for standardized tests. I’ve also had the pleasure of collaborating with respected college counselors who referred students to me regularly. I’m available for in-person sessions in La Cañada Flintridge and the surrounding area, or online via Zoom.

What sets me apart? Probably the range of subjects I teach — and the depth of knowledge I bring to each one. When you work with me, you’re getting someone who knows as much as, if not more than, the student’s classroom teacher. Why? Because I’ve been "in the trenches" for years, refining my methods with each new student I teach.

I’ve seen a wide range of teaching styles and curricula, and I’ve built up a deep understanding of the material across multiple subjects. More importantly, I’ve learned how to adapt my approach to fit each student’s needs and learning style. I know what works — and when.
