"I am a Biochemistry and Forensic Science undergraduate at Norwich University and a graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute, where I earned my Associate of Science degree concentrated in Biological Sciences. My academic background includes rigorous coursework in mathematics and the sciences, including calculus, anatomy, physiology, and forensic science, paired with extensive leadership and mentoring experience. This combination has shaped my tutoring style to be structured, patient, and highly focused on building true understanding rather than rote memorization.
During my time at NMMI, I tutored more than 80 fellow cadets in math and science in both one-on-one and small-group settings, and I have continued tutoring students of varying ages and ability levels through online, individual instruction. I have worked with middle school, high school, and adult learners, helping students strengthen foundational skills, catch up in challenging courses, or prepare for exams such as the ASVAB. I emphasize step-by-step problem solving, clear explanations, and constant checks for understanding so students gain confidence and independence.
I believe effective tutoring goes beyond reviewing homework. I work with students to develop strong study habits, test-taking strategies, and disciplined approaches to learning that transfer across subjects. My goal is not only to help students improve grades or test scores, but to develop the skills and mindset needed for long-term academic success. With a background grounded in discipline, education, and mentorship, I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel challenged, capable, and confident." less...
