"Hello everyone, my name is Chidi M. and I am a college graduate. I studied biochemistry at Cal State LA, but I am going back to pursue my math credentials. I had experience tutoring students for WHIZ. I helped a high school with his math homework for a semester. He was able to understand some of the concepts after I taught him how to do specific examples. At the moment I am an after school math tutor for a STEM Academy high school. I am able to go over math concepts and I give them examples similar to the problems they have and I teach them to step by step how to get the answer. I want them to be able to understand the concepts and help them reach their academic goals.

What I love about tutoring is having an impact on students' success. It brings me great joy when students succeed in their studies. I am able to raise the student's confidence. I want them to succeed and to achieve their best. In terms of how I will help students with their problems, I will give them a similar problem related to one they have and show them step by step of how to do it. If they still have trouble doing it, I will give them another example or go over the concept in detail so they can have a clear understanding. I have used this method before and I think it works because it allows students to see what the concept is about. I know in the past, some students will not understand the concept the first time and that's okay. I am willing to work with you until you understand it and sometimes I have to adapt to the student so he or she can understand what is going on.
