"Hello, I’m Vani! I have years of experience teaching math in both one-on-one and group lessons. I’ve helped students excel in exams like the PSAT, SAT, ACT (many of my students scored perfectly on the PSAT, SAT, & ACT math section), SSAT, SHSAT (many of my students gained admission to Stuyvesant, Bronx Science HS, and more), Regents exam (many of my students scored 99), GED, CHSPE, EOCTs, GA Milestones, and more. My students have gained admission to competitive colleges and specialized high schools. I also tutor for in-school quizzes & tests, enrichment, and advanced learning. I teach K–12 math and higher-level subjects like Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus.

I focus on identifying my students’ strengths and weaknesses, so I can adjust my classes in a way that will be personalized and tailored to them. I also believe that to fully master a topic students need to be fully immersed (doing multiple practice questions so that they understand the entire scope of questions that can be asked on a particular topic), and I do my best to provide that.

My approach to helping students improve in math is to first explain the concepts and then show a few problems step-by-step. I will also show them multiple ways to solve the problems to help them understand the overall concept. Then, I will have students do extra problems on their own to ensure they can apply what they have learned. Throughout the tutoring session, I will continuously go over the problems that they are having a hard time with. I truly feel that these math skills will enable my students to tackle any problem that is thrown their way!

Personally, Math has always been my favorite subject, and I’ve had a strong grasp of math concepts throughout my education. Additionally, I’m an engineering graduate who worked as a Software Developer.
