"I’m David B.! I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics with statistics from London university. I am fully credentialed in mathematics and have taught high school mathematics for the past 27 years. I engage the students in interesting and fun ways. I stop at critical points in the lesson to make sure the student understands each step before moving to the next. If necessary, I will go the extra mile and use extra examples until the student has a full understanding of the underlying concepts. I will slow down if necessary and constantly check for understanding. Afterwards I ensure ample time for the student to practice on his or her own. I adjust my teaching according to the subject matter and the student’s needs. In subsequent lessons I will briefly review the previous lesson before continuing. I make the lesson interesting and ensure the student has a pleasant experience.

During my teaching career, I have taught in the classroom and worked with struggling students as well as gifted students. I have used group work as well as independent work. I have experience teaching remedial algebra and geometry classes. When necessary, I helped low performing students before school and during lunch. I have tutored many students after school helping them achieve competency. I get great satisfaction when students' grades improve, and they start doing much better on tests. Having had extensive experience, I know the mistakes students make and the concepts they find hard to grasp. I have various ways to clarify these areas and remove stumbling blocks. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, Statistics & Probability, and AP Statistics.
