"I always thought I'd retire at age 40 and fall back into a teaching role. It doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. However, I still wish to pursue teaching in some fashion, and tutoring fits into my schedule well. I have tutored several people on the side during my free weekend time. I've always enjoyed and been fascinated by mathematics. I recall clearly first learning to subtract and then multiply. As a child, I would multiply 15 digit number together just because I could.

Math has always come second nature to me, and I have never really taken notes. Only the highest levels of collegiate mathematics stretched me enough that I needed to write anything down.

Physics was my declared major from freshman day 1 in college and I never changed it. I had a great experience in high school with physics and never looked back. Perhaps I enjoy the mathematics aspect of physics as it is just applied mathematics, but the tie to the real world is amazing. Physics can describe everything that occurs in our reality.

I have programmed in one way or another since around 1997. Beginning with the TI-82 calculator's minimalistic programming interface and instructions, I quickly found that I had a knack and love for programming.
