"I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics (GPA 3.72), my Master's degree in Applied Statistics (GPA 4.0), and my MBA (GPA 3.95) at Rutgers University. I have had the pleasure in being a tutor since 2006.

I recently moved to Washington, DC and I'm looking forward to continue my passion in helping students to understand and love their math and stats classes.

I was a tutor at Rutgers University for 6 years during my tenure as an undergraduate & Graduate student tutoring Math, Economics, and Statistics. The math classes that I tutored in school were Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Calculus: Calc 1 & Calc 2, Probability / Statistics. I also tutor AP Economics, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. The economics classes include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Intermediate Economics, and Econometrics. I continue to assist students with diverse backgrounds and learning needs. My students range from middle school through college/graduate level.

For those looking for help in Statistics, I'm also able to assist them in using the statistical softwares - SPSS, Python, SAS, and R. Often students are also required to use excel for statistical analysis, which I can help with as well. Other students sometimes use the TI83/TI84 for Statistics or for other math classes, which is a very powerful tool that I can help with as well.

Currently, I am a professional Statistician / Data Scientist analyzing big data for a living and tutoring on the side. I bring my experiences into the tutoring sessions which often help student better grasp the statistical concepts.

The qualities that I possess as a tutor are that I'm passionate about the subject matter to help students be engaged in the subject, very knowledgeable in the subject matter which will enable me to fill in the gaps in knowledge that the student may have, and I'm patient as I understand the struggles that the student is experiencing in trying to learn the new concepts.

Over the years, I have collected several textbooks and some practice exams from previous students in precalc, calculus, and statistics, which often serve as extra practice and reference for new students." less...

Rating and Reviews

"intelligent, flexible, kind, and reliable"

Wow! If you are looking for an intelligent, flexible, kind, and reliable tutor you can’t go wrong with Ronald. He is the best! He helped me during an accelerated 6-week (very tough stats class) and was so good that I’ve committed to using him for all my stats needs in my post-grad program.
Ronald was very knowledgeable in excel and R studio and was able to help break down complex topics in a logical and easy to understand method. Would HIGHLY recommend! Thanks again Ronald, see you again in the near future!

"Huge Help in Economics, Math and Python Programming in the Future"

Ronald was a huge help to me this semester! Being a senior in Economics was not easy while being online. Ronald tutored me in Quantitative Business Tools 2 (statistics and calculus based economics requirement) which was said to be a challenging course for students.

Ronald was also able to help me with the mathematics and objectives (excel based) required in my Natural Resource and Environmental Economics class. He was able to keep me up with the curriculum and provide great explanations that were both engaging and understandable.

Ronald kept very thorough notes that were well organized and sent to me before each session was over. He was very flexible with time even while properly maintaining a portfolio of other student.

He was always on time and knew exactly what we had worked on previously ready for the next session. This was the best online tutoring session I could have had! Thank you so much to Ronald. I am looking forward to working with him next semester in Econometrics and a Python Programming class. He knows his stuff and he is an excellent tutor/teacher. I highly recommend his services!!
