"Free response: My name is Liang Xia and came from China. I got my undergraduate degree from one of top 5 Chinese University, University of Science and Technology China (USTC). My Ph.D. degree was obtained Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPolyU). After that I worked in HKPolyU as an instructor to engineering students. From 2012 to 2024, I worked in University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), a UK-China University, as an Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor. I have more than 14 years teaching experiences in universities using English. I have taught around 1000 students in my career. After I immigrated to the U.S., I worked as a tutor in a tutoring club for three months, teaching students Maths, including algebra and calculus.

My major gives a strong background of Maths and Physics, and these two are also the ones I usually involved in my teaching. In my teaching, I like to interact with students so as to let students learn not only the knowledge but the ideas and skills. I want to reinforce the knowledge point in the process when I teach student how to solve real questions. Extension based on question sometimes happens in my teaching to let students know more styles that question maker can use for such type of question. To American students, I also would like to show them some methods and skills which are taught in Chinese schools for the purpose of helping students' obtaining more experiences in solving questions from a new perspective.

I got my fellowship in High Education Association (HEA) in United Kingdom (UK) in 2014. I have been obtained Faculty's Top Student Evaluation Teaching Award from UNNC in 2018. I have passed tests on ACT math, calculus, differential equations, geometry, linear algebra and physics in Wyzant. I can teach middle school, high school and college undergraduate students.
