"Hello! I am a professional tutor with over ten years of experience helping students build strong academic foundations and confidence in mathematics, English, physics, chemistry, economics, and accounting. Through my own education, I learned that the classes I appreciated most were not always the easiest ones, but the ones taught by instructors who were clear, patient, and genuinely invested in their students’ understanding. Those experiences strongly shaped my approach to tutoring, and I strive to create sessions where learning feels manageable, supportive, and engaging rather than stressful or intimidating.
I began tutoring in grade 10 and quickly discovered that my greatest strength was breaking complex ideas down into clear, logical steps. Since then, I have taught students in Hong Kong, California, and across the United States, working both one-on-one and in small group settings. I have extensive experience supporting students who struggle with academic anxiety, ADHD-related challenges, and test anxiety, and I am careful to adapt lessons to each student’s pace and individual needs. Academically, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hong Kong, completed an exchange semester in Economics in Rome, and published my first novel at age 17, reflecting strong communication skills across both technical and creative subjects.
In my tutoring sessions, I focus on creating structure and clarity by introducing topics in a simple, approachable way before guiding students through practice and independent problem-solving. I often describe my method as turning everything into “2 + 2,” ensuring students understand concepts at their most basic level before moving forward. I always leave room for questions, adjustments, and review, and I welcome feedback from students and parents to ensure sessions are as effective as possible. My goal is to help students feel confident, supported, and capable of succeeding both academically and independently." less...
