"Hi, I'm Kenny!

I'm a third-year medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with a passion for teaching and mentorship. I earned my B.A. in Computational Biology with a minor in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

I have over three years of experience as a teaching assistant for several undergraduate courses, including General Chemistry (groups of 8-10 students), Data Structures and Algorithms (groups of 5), Web Development (office hour format), and Human Genetics (lecture format with ~60 students). During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent a year virtually tutoring a high school student in foundational computer science. As the president of a community service organization called MedEd, I taught basic science and health topics in K-5 classrooms for three years.

My teaching philosophy is student-centered, focusing on building confidence, encouraging critical thinking, and tailoring lessons to each student's unique learning style. I create lesson plans that target students’ weak areas, provide in-depth reviews, reinforce learning using practice problems, and adjust based on student feedback and progress.

As a medical student, I specialize in MCAT/SAT preparation, biology, chemistry, and computer science. I've scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, 100th percentile on the MCAT, and passed USMLE Step 1. I know firsthand how overwhelming these exams can be and can help you tackle them with clarity, structure, and confidence. In just three months, I raised my MCAT score from a 509 to a 526 using a self-designed study plan–something I’m happy to share.
