"Hi! I graduated summa cum laude (achieving a 4.00 GPA) with university honors from Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. At the time I took the MCAT, I scored in the 95th percentile, with a perfect score (132) on the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems section. I pursued my M.D. at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. I finished at the top of my class during my first year and ranked in the top quartile after completing all core clinical rotations in medical school. I also scored >265 on STEP 2CK and >250 on STEP 3 (>90th and >93rd percentile, respectively). After interviewing at 20 programs, several of which are ranked in the top 20, I have successfully matched into Diagnostic Radiology.
I developed a strong passion for mentoring and teaching students. As the first person attending medical school in my family, I aim to guide others in navigating their journey to medicine, especially those that are unfamiliar with this path. I have numerous experiences tutoring and serving as a teaching assistant, both at the undergraduate and medical school level. During medical school, I have also served as a peer mentor for incoming medical students and have tutored several pre-clinical subjects. I have also file reviewed medical school applications and held MMI interviews for applicants as a volunteer for the admissions committee at my medical school. Thus, I offer many services, including:
Tutoring
-Medical school subject tutoring (including NBME Shelf/USMLE Step 1, 2CK, 3)
Admissions Help
-Consultations for identifying application weaknesses and creating an individualized strategy for improving
-AMCAS/ERAS/VSAS/personal statement/secondaries/LOI edits
-Mock traditional/MMI interviews with feedback
For tutoring, I have found high-yield practice question review to be the most effective method and I seek to individualize tutoring sessions and study plans." less...
