"Hi! My name is Pearl Sutter and I am pursuing both my MD and PhD at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. I graduated from Drew University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Biochemistry and obtained my CRLA tutoring certification in 2014.

Since obtaining my certification, experience tutoring the following - 1) elementary school students in basic math, science, reading, and writing; 2) middle/high school math (Algebra I & II, Geometry), English and writing, as well as high school/AP biology, physics, chemistry, and anatomy; 3) Undergraduate level biology, neuroscience, chemistry, physics, genetics, statistics, and writing. Additionally, I have tutored students in study skills, organization, and public speaking. During my undergraduate training, I completed several statics courses including both introductory and intermediate statistics. I have continued to increase these skills during my MD/PhD training through the incorporation of statistics into the medical school curriculum as well as into my PhD graduate studies. Additionally I have experience with software programs including SPSS and GraphPad Prism.

As an 8th year MD/PhD student at UConn, I have successfully completed med school classes in many subjects including biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, anatomy, histology, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, biostats and more. This intensive training paired with my undergraduate training in neuroscience and biochemistry gives me a very good background in most science subjects. I have tutored in many of these subjects at various levels (undergraduate, middle/high school, grad school) and feel confident that I will be able to teach and answer questions in these subjects.
