"Hi, I’m Miles! I’m currently a college student studying Mechanical Engineering. If there’s one thing I learned from the modern education system, it’s that the teacher makes the class. My goal is to make learning both engaging and fun, providing students with a deep understanding of the subject while staying curious enough to ask questions.

I have over 2 years of total tutoring experience- 1 year with an online tutoring program taught by high schoolers, and 1 year of doing drop-in tutoring. In the high school tutoring program, I taught kids from sixth grade to tenth grade. I was able to effectively communicate concepts and lessons in a way that multiple age ranges could understand. The main subjects I taught in high school were math, specifically Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and Calculus. In my year of college drop-in tutoring, I primarily focused on Chemistry and Calculus.

During my freshman year of college (last year) as a Mechanical Engineer, I was able to achieve a 4.0 GPA, as well as balancing multiple extracurriculars such as clubs, sports, and hobbies. Some relevant courses I took that year, and earned an A (93 or above) in include Chemistry, Calculus, and Physics.

Some general things you can expect from all of my lessons are: preliminary introduction of the concept in a real-life application, explanation of concepts in language that makes sense based on how the student thinks, detailed problem-solving examples, and tips to help the student retain information after the lesson.

To me, the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing the look on their face when they realize they can do something that was once difficult to them. Before beginning the first lesson, I like to give a free consultation meeting so that both the parent and student have an idea of how I teach and communicate, and I can prepare for the first lesson.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy rock climbing, lifting weights, reading, fashion, philosophy, and watching anime. Please don’t hesitate to message me with any questions!" less...
