"Hi, I'm Andrew. I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Nevada Reno with a double minor in Math and Engineering Physics. I've been tutoring math for a little over 4 years ranging from high school math to college level. I started by just tutoring peers and friends in classes we shared, but quickly began tutoring others beyond the classroom as my interest in teaching grew. I have experience tutoring one-on-one, in small groups, and occasionally classrooms. I aspire to get my PhD to become a collegiate professor and researcher as continuing to learn and teach are my passions. I had the honor of graduating my high school as valedictorian as well as continuing to be on the University of Nevada Reno's Dean's List in their Honors College.
I have taught many students of varying ages in topics like Prealgebra, Algebra I & II, AP Physics I & II, AP Calculus BC, Differential Equations, Calculus III, College Level Physics, Statics, SolidWorks, and Geometric Tolerancing. I have successfully helped primarily high school students raise their grades and achieve 4s and 5s on their AP exams; however, I am comfortable working with students of any age and level. It doesn't matter if you're struggling or trying to get ahead, I am happy to help!
My approach to tutoring is catered to the specific needs of who I'm working with. Whether you need visuals, the background in the "why" of something , or just need to have the material introduced or reintroduced to you, I have worked with students of all varieties of learning styles. The end goal is always the same: help you gain permanent understandings and simplify concepts so you don't ever have to memorize formulas or methods." less...
