"I have been tutoring since 2016, when I began supporting underserved AVID students as a high school junior. This early experience helping peers understand foundational math concepts inspired me to begin privately tutoring Algebra and Geometry for advanced middle schoolers. I continued this work during college at the University of Washington, where I earned degrees in Neuroscience and Biochemistry with a minor in Bioethics. There, I expanded my tutoring through peer mentorship and as Academic Chair of my STEM organization, where I led group and one-on-one tutoring in introductory science courses. I developed problem sets, administered mock exams, and recruited subject-specific tutors to broaden the organization’s educational offerings. These experiences solidified my ability to teach biology, chemistry, and algebra using conceptual frameworks, visual tools, and Socratic questioning to target each student’s learning style.
My tutoring spans students from middle school through post-graduate levels, in both volunteer and professional capacities. From 2019 to 2023, I volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club in Seattle and Silicon Valley, helping underserved students with science and math coursework. After graduating in 2022, I worked as a professional tutor, accumulating over 1500 hours of experience in biology, chemistry, and math. I’ve also mentored pre-medical students, guiding them through MCAT prep, personal statement writing, and application strategy. My students have gained admittance to schools like Mt. Sinai, University of Pittsburgh, USF Morsani, and UIC. Whether I’m helping a middle schooler build algebraic intuition or supporting a medical school applicant through high-stakes, impactful writing, I center patience, trust, and tailored strategies in every session." less...
