"Hi! My name is Jessica, and I am a soon-to-be surgical resident physician in Los Angeles. When I was 14 years old, I began my undergraduate education at California State University, Los Angeles through the accelerated Early Entrance Program. I graduated in 2020 and started medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine without taking a gap year. Between my third and fourth years of medical school, I was selected for the prestigious Medical Research Scholars Program at the National Institutes of Health and dedicated an entire year to clinical research at the National Cancer Institute.

I have been tutoring for the past 10 years and can confidently say that out of all my teaching experiences, my favorite experience has been helping students get into medical school! Formally, I was involved in my medical school's mentorship program that paired me with a current medical school applicant. I helped proofread all of their application materials, including their primary AMCAS application and secondary essays, and conducted mock interviews with them. I was so happy to see my mentee receive multiple medical school acceptances before she chose to attend Georgetown. I have also proofread medical school applications and helped with interview prep for countless students in a more informal setting.

I decided to join Wyzant because I still wanted to be involved with mentorship and application prep, even after graduating medical school.
