"I am a medical student at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine pursuing a dual degree with the University of Illinois School of Public Health (MS in Clinical Translational Science) to pursue an academic medicine career. I have completed three years of medical school and am currently devoting time towards the MS degree. Prior to that, I studied at Monmouth College and graduated with a BSc. in Biochemistry, during which I also worked as a part time EMT-Basic and firefighter.
My previous tutoring and teaching experience consists of being an analytical chemistry supplemental instructor during my undergraduate degree, working as a Point of Care Ultrasound instructor to teach anatomy and clinical decision making to premed student during medical school, and continuing to mentor premeds on their journey to getting a medical school acceptance. These are all volunteer experiences and in the class room setting with the latter being one on one mentoring.
I scored in the top percentile on the MCAT in 2021 with a 521 (98th percentile) and Step 2 in 2025 with a 267 (90th percentile and have a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, while Step 1 is pass/fail. My approach to tutoring for these exams will be highly individualized and would focus on long-term planning, identifying conceptual weaknesses, improving reasoning through questions, progress measurement, and helping students build efficient systems that prevent burnout. I feel using my analytical approach to these exams is what allowed me to do so well on them, and is something I can pass on to rising students.
Whether preparing for the MCAT, USMLE Step exams, or seeking guidance on the medical school application process, I aim to make complex topics approachable and give students the confidence to think analytically about their performance and where it needs to be for optimal outcomes." less...
