"Hey there! My name is Erica, and I am a final-year medical student at Saint Louis University School of Medicine pursuing residency training in psychiatry. Bachelor's in Neuroscience, premedical prerequisites, graduated summa cum laude. Successfully got competitive, passing scores in MCAT, STEP 1, and STEP 2 all on the first attempt. My training has equipped me with the academic skills and communication abilities to meet students wherever they are. I have a strong background in a variety of sciences, mentorship, learning difficulties, and test-taking strategies. I am passionate about helping others build confidence in their academic abilities and learning in a digestible way. Previous tutor experience with premedical students taking the MCAT and nursing students preparing for the NCLEX. Open to assisting with college application preparation and graduate-level applications.

My tutoring approach is grounded in patience, encouragement, and an active learning style. I believe that everyone learns differently, so I take time to understand each student’s goals, challenges, and study style. My goal is not only to help you get the right answers, but to help you truly understand why they’re right. I take pride in creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing more confident with each session. I expect students to come prepared with specific questions, areas they would like to focus on, and ready to discuss material and learning resources. Further expectations being that students have access to their own learning resources, I can make some recommendations of resources for students, but it is ultimately what works best for each individual student, financially and based on learning style." less...
