"Hi there! My name is Yasoda, and I'm a current medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine with a strong academic background in the biological and chemical sciences. I earned my B.S. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University with a 3.86 GPA and scored in the 95th percentile on the MCAT. My undergraduate coursework included general biology, general and organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, physics, and biostatistics, giving me a strong foundation to tutor high school/premed science courses, ACT/SAT/MCAT biology and psychology content.

From a young age, my biggest passions have been the biomedical sciences and teaching. I have fostered my passion for connecting with my classmates through peer tutoring ever since I was a high school freshman. In addition, I tutored middle school students through Common Denominator, providing individualized math instruction for students from underserved communities around New York City, and previously supervised academic tutoring programs for hundreds of students at a test-prep center. At Cornell, I served as a teaching assistant for Biochemistry (BIOMG 3310), supporting over 200 undergraduate students through office hours, exam review sessions, and concept-based explanations. I also worked as a peer tutor and biology advisor through college, helping students one-on-one with physics, genetics, and biochemistry.

My teaching style focuses on building deep conceptual understanding while also teaching students how to approach exams strategically. I adapt sessions to each student’s learning style, whether that means walking through practice problems together, breaking down difficult concepts visually, or creating structured study plans.
