"Hello, my name is Dennis! I graduated from UC Riverside summa cum laude with a B.S. in biology. I am currently a 4th year medical student in Southern California with a passion for education. I have 6 years of tutoring experience at the college and medical school level. I have taught classroom style tutoring sessions in undergraduate level biology during which I attended my students' lectures and created custom lesson plans based on the content covered. Currently, I am a peer tutor at my medical school where I offer 1 on 1 tutoring for a wide range of medical school topics. Additionally, I have experience in MCAT test prep, having taught classes to small groups of students. My teaching style is interactive and efficient. I strive to promote understanding of topics, rather than brute memorization without context. I achieve this through analogies, teach back, practice questions, and repetition. These are taken in context with my students' individual strengths and weaknesses and tailored to meet these characteristics.
