"My name is Abygail! I graduated Summa Cum Laude with an advanced diploma from Forest Park Highschool, an Information Technology school. All throughout high school I took several advanced math and science classes, such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, and advanced Pre-Calculus. Being my two favorite subjects, I really enjoyed these classes despite sometimes feeling challenged. What really helped me succeed and enjoy these classes were my teachers, who were passionate about what they taught and were always willing to help me and other students understand what we were learning and how to apply it. Now, I follow their example as I help students feel confident in their subjects and really understand what they are learning so they can apply it themselves. Usually, I will begin a lesson by introducing a topic in a simple and clear way, something that will engage the student. Then, I will teach the material, and leave time for any questions or weak points the student may have. I also like to help students work through any homework problems so they can ask me questions and we can work on them together.

I tutored students for 3 years during high school, both in person and online. I mainly tutored students in Chemistry in person, and tutored elementary to middle school aged students in reading, writing, and math. My students ranged in ages from 9-17.

I believe its important to cater to each students' needs and learning style to what works best for them. I also think communicating with parents is important so we can work as a team to make sure all students get the absolute most out of their tutoring sessions.
