"I have a degree in biology from the University of NC at Charlotte, certification to teach 6-9 math and science. I started out in the education system as a teacher's assistant at a Lincoln county elementary school while my children were in elementary school.

For six years, I taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade math and science at a middle school. I like do break complicated topics down to make it easier to understand. I relate it to real world situations and prior knowledge. In math, I find it beneficial to use the 'I do, We do, You do' method of teaching. While I was a teaching assistant, I also held tutoring for elementary reading and math small groups.
