"Hi there! I have been teaching for 10 years at the same Bronx middle school where I have taught 6th grade through Algebra 1. I love teaching math because problem solving is like putting together a puzzle and I hope to bring the joy that comes along with this process to my students. I cannot say I have a favorite topic to teach because there can be so much creativity and fun involved across grade levels and content.

I love tutoring because it is a chance to connect with a student one on one and really understand what and how they think. Tutoring provides solid individualized attention from a two-way relationship that is impossible to to recreate in a classroom of 27 or more students. Tutoring provides the ability to quickly determine students' strengths and weaknesses in order to build upon their strengths and address their weaknesses so that they can gain confidence and foster independence.

I am an outstanding math tutor because I put you and your needs first. I want to see you become successful on your own by sharing tools that you can use outside of tutoring sessions. Not only do I have years of experience teaching math and familiarity with the content and many different curricula, I also score our middle school math state exams so I am keenly aware of what the state is looking for in terms of success criteria. Scoring the exams has given me better ideas of common misconceptions students often have and enables me to address these misconceptions by providing multiple approaches to problem solving.
