"My name is James and I am passionate about Math and Science. For this reason, I pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I graduated with honors and went on to conduct graduate research in the field of Atmospheric Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I wrote a thesis concerning the fate of pollutants in the atmosphere and graduated with a Master's degree. Although I enjoyed conducting research, I discovered I enjoyed teaching more. Therefore, I started tutoring online for Math, Science, and Test Prep courses.

I have been tutoring these subjects through another online tutoring service for around 1 year. For ACT prep, I use a dual approach that combines review of test content and test format. I try to tailor the classes to the strengths and weaknesses of my students with extra practice for areas of weakness using old ACT tests. I have seen an average score improvement of 3 points for my students and received a 4.9/5 rating.

In addition to ACT students, which are mostly high school, I tutor college students requesting calculus help. Because of my engineering background, I have frequently used the fundamental concepts of calculus in real-life applications.
