"Hello! I am an MIT graduate and former mobile developer. In college I majored in Brain and Cognitive Sciences with a focus on child development and concentration in Anthropology, and also researched adult influences on children aged 4-6. During that time I tutored other students in introductory math; prior to that I tutored high school classmates in Honors Chemistry, Algebra, and Trigonometry. In high school I scored a 2200 on the SAT and 5's on the following AP classes: Physics C: Mechanics, Spanish Language, English Literature, English Language, Calculus BC, Macroeconomics, and World History. I scored a 4 on Chemistry and Microeconomics. I also participated in academic decathlon and scored medals in art, economics, essay, literature, math, music, science, and speech. I graduated with over a 4.5 GPA and won awards in the visual arts, science, and math departments.

I love tutoring because I get so much fulfillment out of seeing things "click" for others. It can be so frustrating and demoralizing to be stuck on the same topic and not understand how to solve any of the problems. Seeing others gain confidence once they learn how to apply lessons is so rewarding! Based on my time in college, I know I have a much greater chance of succeeding when I have more quality time with someone I can ask hundreds of questions to. My favorite professors were ones who had open office hours and could endlessly break down questions until they were finally comprehensible. I do the same thing when I'm tutoring others. I first go over the class material to get a sense of what the knowledge gaps are. Then, I break down problems into simple subproblems to give students a framework of looking at a problem, and I help them identify patterns. I also come up with short and quick problems to make sure a particular topic is cemented before we move on. I help with homework, go through old tests, and look ahead at upcoming topics if wanted. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out, I'd love to help you do your best and succeed!" less...
