"Hi! I'm Anasuya! I’m an aspiring veterinarian who graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry on the Pre-Veterinary Medicine track. During my time at KU, I was consistently on the Honor Roll for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. I’m now pursuing a Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Veterinary Public Health through the University of Missouri. While at KU, I was part of the TRIO SES and STEM program, which offers one-on-one tutoring for students needing extra academic support. My experiences as both a student and tutee through TRIO and Wyzant showed me how much patience, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm can help students gain confidence and truly enjoy learning. I bring those same qualities to my tutoring sessions by breaking down tough topics in a clear, relatable, and encouraging way.
I first started tutoring as a senior in high school through a college prep program, helping students prepare for the ACT in one-on-one and in small groups. Though my time there was shortened by COVID, it sparked a lifelong passion for helping others learn. That passion motivated me to become a TRIO Peer Tutor during my junior year of college, where I’m continuing to tutor ever since! I work with college students one-on-one for an hour per session, focusing on biology and chemistry subjects like general chemistry, biology, microbiology, immunology, and biochemistry. I also enjoy helping during extended tutoring sessions before finals—called Super Saturday and Super Sunday—where students can drop in for extra review and practice.
In each session, I start by learning what topics students find most challenging and asking them to explain their current understanding. From there, we fill in any gaps together and work through practice problems until everything clicks. My goal is for every student I work with to feel supported, confident, and excited about learning. I’m always easy to reach and quick to respond—feel free to message me with any questions or to schedule a session!" less...
